P90X3 Review

I just finished the P90X3 workout program and got my free T-shirt so I thought I would write a P90X3 review on the program. I had tried P90X before about 10 years ago but it didn’t go so well. I think I only completed 2 weeks and then gave up. The workouts were so long and they were pretty tough. I didn’t find P90X3 as tough since I had already been working out for a bit before I started it and I was in better shape.

P90X3 Review

P90X3 is the third in the line of the P90X programs. You don’t have to be a graduate of the first two programs to do this one. This program is shorter and not as difficult as the first two.

What type of workout is this?

The workouts included in the program range from stretching, yoga, Pilates, MMX, resistance training, bodyweight workouts, cardio, balance, endurance, stability. YOu get a little of everything in this program so you will never get bored. There are 16 workouts in this program.

How long are the workouts and Program?

The workouts are each 30 minutes with a few minutes added on for cooldown. You can also add in a longer warmup before if you select the cold start option. Tony says that is for people living out in Minnesota in the winter.

The program is a 90 day transformation program.

Is equipment needed?

For the program you need dumbbells or resistance bands and a pull-up bar. I would use dumbbells as they are easier to use and you can vary the resistance.

Why is P90X3 different than other programs?

It is different that it is shorter workouts that allow you to get more done in less time while still getting the results you want. After various studies the conclusion was that the first part of the workout is where the magic happens so the decided to make the workouts shorter to maximize your time.

There are so many different exercises in this program that your body is always guessing as to what will be next. One day you are doing MMX, another day is push-ups and pullups, another day balance, Yoga, Pilates. It really combines all the best types of workouts for maximum results and keep you interested.

I tend to get bored easily but this program has kept me interested for the full 90 days. I have moved on to another program now but I will definitely come back to this one in the future and continue to fit some of these workouts into my other routines as well.
